#AtoZChallenge Day 15: O

O

“O is for Olive, run through with an awl…”  I know awls are capable of blinding people (that’s what happened to Louis Braille when he was a small child, at least his getting stabbed in the eye with one accidentally is what started the process—look it up), but I’ve never heard of one capable of running someone through.  They must come in different sizes or something.  Granted, Olive was a child, so presumably it would have been easier with her than with an adult, but still… and can you imagine the physical strength that must have taken?  No child would have been strong enough, that’s for sure!  Which means that once again, some adult is responsible, whether it was a deliberate act or not.  What is wrong with people these days, anyway?  Some adults should never be allowed around children, I swear!
