#AtoZChallenge Day 2: B

“B is for Basil, assaulted by bears.”  Now just how did these bears get into town to attack poor Basil?  Did they ride in on their Harleys or something?  (You never know, they could be bear shifters…)  Or was Basil out camping with his parents or his Scout troop or something, and he went wandering off into the woods by himself and run into a bears’ club meeting or something?  I know, he was at a zoo and…oh wait, that one’s been done recently, only with gorillas…

And just what in the name of Smokey did he do to deserve such a fate, anyway?  Did he insult their intelligence?  Did he make fun of their sisters/girlfriends/mamas?  Did he question their manhood, I mean bearhood?  What in Yogi’s name could a child have done to warrant such an attack?  Someone better call Ranger Smith and tell him to do a cave check, make sure none of his charges have extra items in their dens, such as a child-sized pair of trainers or other items of clothing…

maybe he was lonely and wanted a nice, new, fluffy friend and it all just went horribly wrong?

Bears don’t need a reason, I guess. Maybe he looked like a pot of honey… 😉

Maybe Basil got assaulted by the bears because he tried to steal their honey?

This was such a bad Winnie-the-Pooh explanation 🙈

I’m loving this series already, Christine 🙂

    • I like your idea, though. 😀 Thanks, hope you like tomorrow’s as well (if you’re a Doctor Who fan, you’ll get the references, if not…Clara was the Doctor’s latest companion, the next one to be introduced is a young woman named Bill…I don’t know, maybe they’ll explain her name in her first episode).

      • I found myself using Doctor Who and Harry Potter references on a few of my entries (as well as a couple Agatha Christie references…if you’ve read the book I’m referring to, you should recognize it when you see it).

Hi Christine – Basil seemed to have a rough time … the bears need to learn to be polite – perhaps Basil can teach them … cheers Hilary
